Sprzeczna 4 is simple in its form, written into the plot shape. Its stepping elevation follows the main street buildings line, creating an open facade with little balconies and side terraces, offering open spaces which are more and more precious in the quickly densifying city. The regular rhythm is followed by simple “portfenetre” windows on the side walls, but broken by the concrete balconies hanging on the internal elevations.
The whole building has been designed in precast concrete, the result of the client’s desire to develop in precast technology. The usage of the precast modules allows for cost reduction and shortens the time of the construction process. Red concrete skin of the building has been designed as a modern response to the brick buildings in the district. It is part of the precast composite concrete insulated panels which are delivered on site with the glazing units yet installed. On some parts of the external and internal concrete walls we proposed to imprint a soft pattern. It will make the concrete more human and it will be the next to the technology leading motive of the Sprzeczna 4 apartment building.
